Upper Deck, a renowned name in the realm of sports and entertainment collectibles, has proudly unveiled an exclusive autograph trading card agreement with the hockey prodigy Macklin Celebrini. Following his signing with the San Jose Sharks® on July 6, sealing a three-year entry-level NHL contract, Upper Deck will be the exclusive producer of Celebrini’s trading cards. The deal encompasses the rights to feature his name, image, likeness, and autograph on various Upper Deck trading card series, including flagship editions like Upper Deck Flagship Series, SP Authentic, and O-Pee-Chee-Platinum.
At just 18 years old, Macklin Celebrini garnered attention as the top pick in the 2024 Upper Deck NHL Draft™ by the San Jose Sharks® on June 28. Making waves during his collegiate tenure, Celebrini achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the youngest player to clinch the prestigious Hobey Baker Award in his debut year, a recognition bestowed upon the nation’s best college player. His exceptional performance in the 2023-24 season led to multiple accolades, including being named Hockey East Player of the Year, Hockey East Rookie of the Year, Hockey East Scoring Champion, and recipient of the Hockey East Three-Stars Award for registering the highest number of points in the regular season.
Jason Masherah, the President of Upper Deck, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Macklin Celebrini is a standout talent, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to our roster of hockey sensations. We’re committed to bringing fans even closer to their favorite NHL players, and the addition of Celebrini reflects our dedication to showcasing both seasoned legends and emerging stars. We’re proud to represent him at such an exciting time in his career and look forward to capturing his success on the ice once he makes his NHL debut.”
In a bid to celebrate this monumental collaboration, fans can kickstart their Macklin Celebrini collection on Upper Deck e-Pack® by acquiring a limited edition Game Dated Moments card, available for purchase until July 25 at 8:59 AM PST. The announcement also hinted at the forthcoming release of additional Celebrini trading card products over the course of the 2024-25 NHL season, promising fans an extensive array of memorabilia to commemorate the rising star’s journey in the hockey world.
