Set against the backdrop of a Sunday night bidding frenzy, the auction was a showcase of rare finds and exceptional pieces that left enthusiasts and experts alike in awe.

At the forefront of the auction was a 1958 Topps near-complete set, a gem missing just one card that commanded a staggering $126,000. Delving into the realm of pre-war classics, the auction unearthed rare gems that set new records and captivated bidders. The spotlight shone on a 1909-1911 T206 Ty Cobb Bat Off Shoulder card with the elusive Uzit Back, graded PSA FAIR 1.5, which sold for $54,000, establishing a groundbreaking record for its grade and back combination. Another standout was the sale of a 1933 R319 Goudey #53 Babe Ruth card, clinching $30,000 and breaking records with its VG-EX 4 grade.

In a whirlwind of bidding wars and intense competition, over 3,600 items found new homes, amassing a staggering $1.8 million in sales from an astounding 63,000 bids. Among the star attractions were the likes of the iconic Roberto Clemente Rookie card, the legendary Hank Aaron Rookie card, and the illustrious Wolverine News Postcard featuring a Ty Cobb Portrait Rookie – each fetching impressive sums and leaving a trail of awe in their wake.

REA President Brian Dwyer lauded the auction’s success, touting the robust results and signaling a resurgence of interest in high-grade set building. With optimism and enthusiasm, Dwyer emphasized the positive trajectory of the industry and hinted at the promising prospects for upcoming events on the horizon.
