Panini America Introduces Panini College for College Athletes

Panini America is revolutionizing the collegiate sports landscape with the launch of Panini College, a groundbreaking platform that aims to empower college athletes to capitalize on their name, image, and likeness. This innovative initiative will give athletes from partner universities the chance to have their own trading cards under the Panini NIL brand, creating a memorable keepsake for fans and a unique revenue opportunity for the athletes themselves.

The platform officially debuts with a thrilling lineup of football and volleyball players from three major schools: Ohio State University, University of Nebraska, and University of Texas. Athletes participating in Panini College will not only have their personal trading cards available for sale to fans but also have the opportunity to earn compensation based on the sales of their cards, including exclusive autographed versions for select athletes.

Panini College’s launch marks a significant milestone in the collegiate sports trading card industry, offering a fresh approach to how student-athletes can monetize their personas. The platform is set to expand to include more schools and sports nationwide in the near future, providing a broader array of athletes with the chance to showcase their talents and gain recognition through their own trading cards.

Jason Howarth, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Athlete Relations for Panini America, expressed the company’s belief in providing every collegiate athlete with the opportunity to have their own trading card. He emphasized that Panini College aims to revolutionize the trading card market for athletes across all sports, offering a platform for them to leverage their name, image, and likeness. As the program grows to encompass additional schools and sports, Panini College is poised to unlock new possibilities for athletes to connect with fans through exciting collectibles.

Panini College builds upon Panini America’s established presence in the collegiate NIL arena, expanding upon its collaborations with notable athletes such as Lexi Rodriguez, a volleyball All-American from the University of Nebraska who became Panini’s first female NIL athlete. The platform also features partnerships with standout players like Quinn Ewers, Tre Johnson, Arch Manning, Dylan Raiola, Julian Sayin, and Zachariah Branch, highlighting Panini’s commitment to showcasing talent and diversity within the collegiate sports community.

In earlier developments, Panini America introduced the Caitlin Clark Collection in 2023, a popular line celebrating the extraordinary career of Caitlin Clark, a basketball star from the University of Iowa. These initiatives underscore Panini’s dedication to driving innovation in the collegiate sports trading card market and reinforcing its position as a leader in the dynamic landscape of NIL partnerships.

As Panini College takes flight, it heralds a new era of opportunity for college athletes to engage with fans and monetize their athletic achievements through their own trading cards. With an array of products and athlete cards set to be unveiled throughout the academic year, Panini America continues to pave the way for athletes to stand out and fans to connect with their favorite collegiate stars in a whole new light.
