Topps Unveils Tom Brady’s Unique Baseball Card in 2023 Bowman Draft

Topps, the renowned trading card company, is shaking things up with the release of their highly anticipated 2023 Bowman Draft Baseball collection. And while baseball cards usually feature baseball players, this time they have decided to feature former NFL star Tom Brady. Known for his exceptional skills on the football field, Brady also showcased his talent in multiple sports during his high school years.

These unique baseball cards will depict Brady wearing a Montreal Expos jersey, a nod to his selection by the Expos in the 18th round of the MLB draft. Instead of pursuing a career in baseball, Brady decided to pursue football at the University of Michigan, leading him to become one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

One of the highlights of this collection is the 81 autographed cards of Brady, which are expected to create a frenzy among collectors. To add to the excitement, Topps plans to release an amusing video soon. Social media teasers have already given fans a glimpse, with one card in particular garnering attention. This card features Brady with an inscription that humorously suggests that if his baseball career didn’t pan out, he always had football as an option. Additionally, there is a French inscription on the card to pay homage to the Montreal Expos.

The most sought-after card in this collection is an autographed card numbered 12/50, paying tribute to Brady’s iconic jersey number. This card has already generated significant interest, with a private collector offering a staggering $500,000 for it. Alongside this, there is a rare 1-1 SuperFractor auto card.

Interestingly, Brady holds the distinction of being the last Expos draft pick to retire from professional sports. Following the team’s relocation to Washington, D.C. and rebranding as the Nationals in 2004, no other Expos draft pick continued their professional career.

For collectors eagerly awaiting the release of the 2023 Bowman Draft, there will be two formats available: Hobby and Jumbo. The Hobby format offers three autographs per box, while the Jumbo format presents fans with the opportunity to get their hands on five autographs. The official release date is set for Tuesday, December 12th, but some boxes have already surfaced. Hit Factory Sports Cards in Arizona recently unveiled a non-signed Tom Brady card from the collection, further building anticipation among collectors.

In the meantime, autographed Tom Brady cards from the 2023 Bowman Draft collection have started popping up on eBay, generating a great deal of excitement among fans and collectors alike. With Brady’s status as one of the most successful and popular athletes of all time, these baseball cards are sure to become cherished pieces in any collector’s portfolio.
